1) If you just downloaded it and installed it, it is either 1.0.6 or
1.0.7. Either case will not change how it displays. Of course *every*
programs from before Windows95 applications will show you the version
number by the menu 'Help|About...'!!!

2) I can only assume you it is by *intentional design* for folks with
typical screen resolutions and your rigid table layout to squeeze the
image's description into a narrow column of words and the associated
image to dive down out of view! Added bonus you narrow the window your
floating 'Seagull-ie' logo (invokes interesting associations) dives
under the table text! Real sweet! Between the 200+ pixels of whitespace
for your 'language' buttons on the left and (what is that margin?) right
margin of about 150 pixels--not much room for content. That must be by
design as well.
