You need to research SEO or "Search Engine Optimisation". Google is pretty
good at indexing sites but SEO ensures Google's bot has an easier time and
also any other search engine bots that come along.
It wouldn't hurt to submit your site to multiple search engines. Google
can help you find free search engine submission sites that do that for
you.
