Firefox is not slower than IE in most normal installations. IE may be
faster to start up, but that is because most of it is already loaded
with the operating system. Once loaded, Firefox is faster for me, though
Opera is the fastest.

Not likely. I have nine browsers on my PC, and it's as fast as it ever
was. Three of them are open at this moment, along with my newsreader and
a couple of other things.
