Well, that is one way to qualify your contacts:-)
But seriously, the image of your email address is rather obviously
an image so only the newest of web users would try to copy and past.
Just as most people's short term memory can hold about 7-10 digits
for a US phone number, they can remember a simple email address long
enough to get it into a webmail/email client.
Using this method, do keep the email address simple too. As this one
is "information" @ the domain. Or "webmaster" or other simple words.
And now you have to be somewhat rude and munge your alt attribute
since you can't just put your email address in the clear. That has
down sides as well, not to mention the address might be easy to
un-munge.

That said, simple addresses like webmaster, information, info, help,
and the like may be automatically spammed as they're so common.
An email harvester could analyze the image and get the email address
that way. Look into captcha.
There's BoxTrapper software that requires the sender to reply to an
email verification before their message is sent to you. But I don't
consider that very helpful, as the sender may not have an email
address but is emailing a phone number or the like.
LOL. In the end there's not a lot you can do aside from spam
filtering at the server, and via your mail client if you download email.
