Depends what you mean by "useful". I suppose anyone naive enough to
ask the question is going to have to discover the answer the hard way:
they aren't likely to believe it when they're told the simple truth.
But I can't support the idea of fooling them with convincing-looking
answers that basically don't work.

If the questioner really does need to "try this", they would be
wasting their time. The idea only works for people who have so little
interest in the problem that they couldn't be bothered to steal the
images anyway. About as useful as locking the door and putting the
key under the doormat - right where any burglar would look for it.

All the longwinded stuff on your page about viewing the source and
deducing the URL of the image is just bluster: in my browser, to take
just one example, the disable-javascript option would be just a click
away, for those who don't already have their browser set to one of the
more-secure options (there's a specific preferences checkbox for
defeating those annoying web pages which attempt to interfere with the
context menu).

OK: as invited by your posting, I "tried" it. And here's the context
menu, offering all the usual options:

Yes, I recognise that the cited "tutorial" page contains some low-key
warnings about the procedure "not working as well as you might think".
But I still think it's wrong to tell naive questioners to put their
front door key in the place where burglars are going to look for it,
with only limited warnings about how ineffective it's going to be.

cheers
