SELECT * FROM blog
WHERE ... AND id < $currentID
ORDER BY id DESC
LIMIT 5
UNION
SELECT * FROM blog
WHERE ... AND id >= $currentID
ORDER BY id
LIMIT 6

Second limit needs to be 6 to make sure the current ID is included.
