This is a tricky request. The only thing that comes to mind at the moment is instead of using a
default text area you could use tinymce as your editor, but that could be problematic cause
you might not want html tags.
I really can't think of anything that would allow text highlighting directly through a web page.
I poked around google - didn't see anything
