again...OMG !!!

you probably have .php associated with php and not your web browser...that's
why a dos command prompt opens up. even if you associate .php files with ie,
i don't think you can just double-click the file and have it open as you
think it should...that bypasses your web server which shells the script to
php for interpretation.

open your freaking browser, type http://localhost/index.php in the address
bar and see how far you get.

a LITTLE reading would save you a BUNCH of time and frustration...and
comments like OMG !!!
