Maintaining that fuinction will get more and more hairy, as you increase
number of forms, with each one of them having some specifics. In OO one
would usually isolate those points in methods, ands overide them in the
sublcass. In procedural approach one would start writing complex switch
statements, or in php perhaps conditionally incude different files with
different definitonms of help functions. Or quite often programmer would
just give up after some time, and do that dreaded copy-paste-modify-slightly
thing.
