I hope this is the right place to ask what could well be a dumb
question.. it's to settle an argument.
I'm a member of a forum that uses phpBB, and there is a feature that
puzzles me. At the bottom of the main page, there is the feature
'Members Online Now', which of course informs us which members are
presently on the site.
Above that, there is another section, entitled 'Members Who Visited
Today', which is self-explanatory, but within this section, there is the
line 'Members online now' - there is often a list of members showing
there, but they are not presently on the site. What is this line telling
us exactly?
Is it possible that the site is 'aware' of a member being connected to
the 'net, even if he is NOT on the forum?
Thanks :)
