Php has come to be one of the most common server side scripting language and
at least here around more web hosts seems to offer php support by default than
asp (at least of those I seen).

I don't have seen any proper such, but found at netcraft an old statistics
(2003) on what was the server side script language used on servers using
microsoft windows and I would think there is a new leader today, 2.5 year later.
