I'd suggest that since IIS is written exclusively for Windows, and is
able to take advantage of insider knowledge, IIS would be faster.
However that is pure conjecture.

Although, I'm willing to bet the other two replies aren't based on fact
either ;o)

It's perhaps worth benchmarking, although I'm fairly certain that the
speed difference will be so slight as to not effect anything to a level
that is worth being bothered about. Spending that time designing better
code will improve performance far more than the difference between IIS
and Apache.
