I'm going to be interviewing a summer student for a php/mysql developer
position. The person has plenty of education but no experience. I'm
not concerned with his knowledge of syntax, instead I'd like to measure
somehow his ability for me to throw a problem or a project at him and
end up with a piece of software that works.
To that end, I'd like to give him a few real world php-type of problems,
things that will demonstrate that he'll be able to do the job - but not
so complex that they can't be easily answered in the confines of an
interview.
Anyone have any suggestions as to the type of question I might ask?
