I certainly would be happier to have all the same types of webserver
running in a company. Speaking as a developer it makes life easier...
If I put my sys admin hat on, then if the linux box falls over at the
moment, I'm going to have a headache. So yes, maybe bigger
organisations can afford the talent to run over multiple OS's.
So, I'll recommend that we try the app of a Windows box to see if the
code ports over. There is a lot of it > 100,000 lines. Multiple
developers have worked on it, using tons of modules (old versions of
Auth etc...).
Give me a few weeks, and I'll post a message to the list with some
details of the story so far:
Win SQL Drivers, old modules, date issues and performance issues...
