Jerrata Corporation, a Texas-based webware firm licensing software for
on-the-Web deployment, releases source code comprising its premier
product Jerrata Backbone(tm). Written entirely in PHP, the partial
codebase released includes routines and classes for:
* the movement of data amongst intra-application objects, via pipes and
ports.
* the creation of any object through automatic PHP inclusion.
* Convenience and JSL_Exception classes which increase readability and
enable smooth escalation of error.
In step with this source code release, Jerrata introduces a revamped
Backbone licensing system calling for L1 and L2 purchase options for
those PHP developers, site administrators, and entrepreneurs who want
their hands on this glue-for-the-Web.
Backbone meshes together the output of PHP applications and in this way
acts as a glue with the ability to scale upward in order to create
advanced, multi-application Web presences (see a case study to this
effect at http://case-studies.jerrata.com/).
Jerrata believes that preferable to a single hard-to-maintain, do-all
mega-application is a cooperation of concise, focused applications
acting in tandem.
