i said what i had to say...not trolling.
usually, the best way to tell if someone is just blanketing newsgroups with
requests for help is to response as i've done. most "insincere" posts, as i
suspected yours of being, will not generate any further responses...unlike
yours.
what i would recommend it giving a url that has contact info and a project
outline with specific tasks and what you consider "fair prices". that, or if
brief enough, post that information within your newsgroup request for help.
your posts lacks any of that...so it's hard to tell what is legit and what
is not.
key things for us to know (other than rudimentary functionality) is what os
will this be on, what version of php do you intend to use, what db (if any)
will you be using, etc., etc..
i'll be happy to give you whatever code i've got that helps you along and i
won't bother with charging you...as most of us here are willing to do.
what you must understand is that most of us have enough consultant
experience to be able to screen out potential employers...just as they do
employees. just as certain terms in resumes turn an employer away from a
candidate, things like "significant bonus to follow" are one of our buzz
terms that screams "don't touch it with a ten foot pole" (aka. pie in the
sky, by and by).
being specific in mentioning rates rather than "fair" helps too. my "fair"
rate is $135.00 per hour usd...and that's getting off cheap. ask a php
programmer from san francisco what fair means...the answer will be well over
that amount.
now that all that has been said, what are your needs and what consideration
are you willing to commit to for reimbursement?
