Aahh. No, I'm not connected prior to calling this function. I was attempting
to use the function just prior to connecting. Thanks.

reference say ".chm"?
You know, I've tried various ways of getting this to work, unsuccessfully:
docref_root = "E:\php\manual"
docref_ext = ".chm"
I've tried ".html" as the extension because of the instructions I read
somewhere. I thought maybe the instructions were old because my help file
types are .chm even though they *are* displayed in my browser. I believe
I've tried it with and without the trailing backslash, with/without the
quotes--I don't recall if I've tried every variation possible though. I
guess I got discouraged quickly due to all the other things I was
familiarizing myself with.
I'd really appreciate it if you could advise me on this one.
