i have considered these options in phpbb phorum and the other boards..

thats why im embarking on my own project for this (read my earlier reply) ..
hopefully i get to complete it, kill time and learn something

i appreciate your help - but what I was looking for, was a package that
displays as expanded threads, with all the replies below it in threaded
form, indented as necessary, without the need for the user to click each
replied post for the text

such a package doesn't exist, or it isn't free, or I have yet to find it..

you have been of much help - i want to assure you I have read your entire
post and the options are not favourable

and yes, one click is too much, usability wise.
