Your workaround is fine, perhaps better than mine... but I already had
a work around, and the question was why it's happening (is it me or
Firefox/Opera that's got it wrong, and why).
Ignore the other aspects of the page, ignore the parts about centering
(I've already said this in the first post), it's not what I'm asking
about here.
