It appears that the error lay within your JavaScript and/or the method by which you send
the variable to the script.
If I load your site, then immediately hit 'update map', it locks 2006-03-01 into it. No
changes can be made. That tells me right off the bat, you are either not sending the
changes to the script or you are overwriting $_GET with previous results.
