Mistake #1-newsgroups each have their own "rules" or netiquette. It's
best to read them for a while (aka "lurk") rather than post something
right away. Post something off-topic or inappropriate in a group and
get LART'ed (luser attitude readjustment tool), as you were in your
initial post. Or you could ultimately get *plonked* (killfiled or all
posts ignored). Post something considered spam and someone will report
your domain and posting host to a spam-blocking site as well as complain
to both whomever they can think of.

Would you wander into a science fiction convention room party at the
hosting hotel and hit on some young lady right away or would you wait
and observe that most of the parings were same sex (and perhaps still
approach a couple, make a clueless suggestion and wonder why you were
rebuffed)?

I'm trying to be nice because you're obviously a totally clueless
newbie--must be from marketing. Anyway, bottom line is _yes_ you are in
the wrong place for this sort of thing.

No harm, no foul. A wiccan friend of mine has a saying I particularly
like: The godess tells us something three times--the first by a tap on
the shoulder, the second by a 2x4 over the head, and the third by a MAC
truck. There is no 4th time.

I like to watch out for all the taps on the should I can. Good luck in
your endeavor.
