Sure you can. Your code looks just fine. You may wish to contact your administrator and
see if there is something that could intefere with it. I am sure something exists, but I
do not know what it would be called offhand.

You can chmod any file with any permissions. Specifically, you can make HTML files
executable for the purpose of parsing SSIs or other code (see Apache XBitHack).
