These a third thing too. The SELECT element has no width attribute by the
specifications. (And although a few browsers recognize such an attribute, it
won't affect most browsers, and if it does, it is a problem rather than
solution. It sets the width in pixels, which is almost always the wrong
thing.)
We don't know the OP's real problem _or_ the way he regarded as the problem
_or_ what was really considered as a solution.
