Oh my god, 4.0.x is complete obsolete. The last version of 4.0 series
is 4.0.6 and it was released in June 2001!!! There have been *19*
more releases of PHP since then. The latest version of PHP is 4.3.11
and is likely the most stable version of PHP4 so far.
Old versions do suffer from security flaws (like old versions of
anything).
