I don't think it's idiotic, but I find brucie's better because it
isn't dependent on cookies or JavaScript.

True, but if a page has a link that says "change the color of this
page to blue", and you click it and it doesn't, it looks silly to have
such a link. Same with cookies. If there is a link with a large A in a
picture, meaning click here for readable text, it may be annoying if
you have to click that A on every new page again.
I think brucie just likes to pronounce his likes and dislikes a bit
more extreme than I do ;-)
