You didn't mention what version of PHP you're using. If you're on 4.3,
try 4.4. I have noticed that 4.3 has some issues with COM clean-up,
with objects getting blown away prematurely. I think the SQL Server
ODBC uses OLE-DB underneath, so bad things could happen when the
objects it's using sudden become invalid.
