You are probably looking for someething more comprehensive but here is
an auction site I coded from scratch for a friend.

It could use some more input validation (you can break the script by
inputing things like ">"), but it does the job this person needed. It
simply stores bids in a mysql database and retrieves the data. It also
has an admin page that she can go to to see all the bids as well as the
information about each bidder.
No one ever actually made a bid. It was fun thinking it through and
implementing it however. A good afternoon php practise project. I'm
pretty new at coding.
