what about something like this here:

DECLARE @Start DATETIME
DECLARE @End DATETIME

SET @Start = '20060924'
SET @End = '20060924'

Select 1
Where @Start <= GETDATE() AND DATEDIFF(dd,GETDATE(),@END) >= 0
