Did you stop and restart your server?
For the mysql connections, you need the following in your php.ini file:
extension=php_mysql.dll
If you want to use mysqli, you need:
extension=php_mysqli.dll
(you can specify both).
And watch for any errors when you start your server. Check your server
log to see if there are any errors, also.
