It usually is not hard -- if I can get a clear spec with proper DDL and
data model:)
What are the inaccurate parts in the assumptions I was forced to make
from lack of specs? Show me the clarity I missed. What was irrational
on my part about using proper definitions? What did you post that
shows this is not a VERY common error?
Roy did a better, more detailed job of frying your posting. But I am
still bothered by the idea that one parcel can have zero or more
acreage measurements. Why is that not a design flaw? If your data is
screwed up the way it looks from your vague posting, then no query can
help you. This thing can have no data integrity.
Vague specs mean that you will get a "Newsgroup Kludge" that might or
might not be right. But it will run, Ghod help you.
It takes SIX yesrs to become a Union Journeyman Carpenter in New York
State. Why do you think you can become a database expert in less time?
Why do you think you should not be criticized when you when you cannot
do the basics, like specs, terminology and data elements names?
