>Is the following possible:
>Lets say a user is happy with a certain service a website has to offer.
>Is there a way to send him an email or create somekind of package or
>something of this kind that will forward a certain message to all of
>his contacts in his email announcing how happy he is with the service
>and recommending it to his friends?
In other words, you want your users to SPAM for you.
You shouldn't even think about sending email to "all of his contacts"
and you certainly shouldn't suggest to a user that he should do
that. You can suggest that a user send email to "all of his friends
who might be interested in the site" and hope the user doesn't
include his grandmother who thinks that anything FUN is the spawn
of Satan.
Think a little bit about who the user's contacts are. Do you think
that his stockbroker wants to hear about your website at his WORK
address? How about a hospital or credit card billing or customer
service department? His son's teacher? His insurance agent? You
can get people in trouble sending personal email to their work
addresses. And worse, you may get the user in trouble with his friends.
Would a user want to send your email to his parents? His kids?
His ex-wife?
You also shouldn't be telling people to send email about your site
if it might not be age-appropriate for *ALL* ages (most web sites
are inappropriate for 3-year-olds, even for 3-year-olds with email
addresses).
>Basically, I'm just trying to think
>of a way a happy customer could spread the word about a service without
>doing too much... because people are lazy... :) and they won't tell
>everyone about your service unless its really really quick and
>simple....
Your idea is a good way to turn a happy customer into an UNhappy
customer.
>hope you get the idea...
Yeah, you're a SPAMMER by proxy.
