remote desktop and db performance

Posted by ilkaos on 10/27/06 09:00

hi all!
I have a client/server applcation written in visual Foxpro 8 that works with
sql server.
There is a particular procedure that is very heavy and if it is launched by
a
client it completely "freeze" the pc til it has finished...
of course the best way of facing this problem would be to rewrite it but I
have no time
for doing it.
so i thought about making it work through a remote desktop.
but what i fear is that it can be "heavy" for the server itself...so to
solve the problem maybe I am going to have all the other users slow down.
is there an easy way of knowing how much in terms of %cpu and memory my
remote desktop session would use?
and is there a way of giving a limit to this session?
i am going to post this on the 2003 server ng too, but I thought that maybe
i could get some good answers here too.
TIA

ciao
