Thanks for all the suggestions - so far none of them has panned out.
The Excel suggestion works but to do it is like pulling hens teeth.
Severely laborious. I find it's easier to use corel draw than excel
and I'd already rejected that as painful.
I cant believe there's nothing to produce a few simple flowcharts with
that isnt either very expensive for the purpose(eg visio) or just seems
designed from the outset to make life difficult (excel ? coreldraw?)
