Yes, just tried it and it fails very badly.

Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in
phar://go-pear.phar/PEAR/Command.php on line 268

... over and over, ending up with "install failed".

Dunno yet, bug reports seem to be thin on the ground so far.
