You need to allow the user to access to the database.

Allows SELECT access
GRANT SELECT ON * TO <username>

If you want total control (SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE)
GRANT ALL ON * TO <username>

The use of "*" infers all tables.

You could specify the tables:
GRANT SELECT ON mytable1 TO <username>
GRANT SELECT ON mytable2 TO <username>
GRANT SELECT ON mytable3 TO <username>
GRANT UPDATE ON mytable4 TO <username>
