Harsh is being fired from a job because you can't do what is required, after
you were hired based on your supposed knowledge of the subject as
demonstrated by a "degree" in that field. My comments weren't harsh - only
realistic.

One thing I have realized that schools definitely don't teach is the
business and practical aspects of IT, which your questions address. I have
known quite a few "programmers" with 4-year degrees who have no clue about
developing real-world applications, or translating a set of requirements
into a final solution. It's quite sad, really.
