Yup, leave it as is, but add this line to the top of your file:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
Makes IE try to follow the same standards as the other browsers ;-)
