If I remember correctly, access to the admin features isn't solely based on
directory location. I'd check the other files in the admin area to see how PHPBB
is authenticating your access and how it is distinguishing your login from
anyone elses.
Depending what you were trying to do with the script you may consider installing
on the same web server, but under a different directory location when you can
configure your own authentication to access.
