you mean
$strText = preg_replace('/\s\s+/', ' ', $strText);
which makes all multiple spaces into a single space, leaving those
with just one untouched for speed
or
$strText = str_replace( ' ',' ',$strText );
which converts doubles to singles, str_replace is fastest.
