I'm with the rest of the people here. I don't understand exactly what
you're trying to do.

As Michael indicated, if you only want to remove the sha1, then you
should be using Apache's mod_rewrite.

And as he also indicated - if you don't want a PHP answer, don't ask in
a PHP newsgroup!

So what does openssl, Digital signatures, etc. have to do with this?
