Internet Application Developer - Contract 6 months.
Location: Concord, Ontario, Canada
As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced programmer with
several years in an open source environment (like LAMP), taking functional
specifications into architecture, design and implementation. Your mandate
will include developing and launching a professional-targeted web-based
service.
Required Skills include:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 7
years experience (or 10+ years of working experience)
- 4+ years experience in open source development: PHP, Perl, CGI, HTML/CSS
- 3+ years JavaScript, Database design and development, Object oriented
programming
- 3+ years SQL, primarily MySQL
- Experience developing scalable web applications targeted for
single/multi-byte and Unicode user interfaces
- Experience with structured development methodologies
- Experience implementing security on web-based applications
- Proven experience building interfaces and data imports
Additional Skills and Attributes:
- Visual Basic, C, C++, C#
- MySQL/Linux/UNIX administration
- Technical writing/documentation
- Planning and application design skills
- Written, verbal and presentation skills in English (with a second language
such as Spanish, German, Japanese or Chinese an asset)
- Keen interest in internet technology and open source development
- Ability to acquire new skills quickly
- Interpersonal skills
