Some browsers use different engines on different operating systems.
For example IE6 on Windows uses Trident but IE on the Mac uses Tasman.
On Windows IE6 is faster in just about every respect to Firefox expect
for javascript rendering, however all the benchmarks done have failed
to take into account the curve of lag that results from having
multiple browser instances running simultaneously. If you open
Firefox with say a couple dozen tabs...it is just shit fuckin slow.
Where as if you run a few dozen instances of IE...meh...no real
difference in speed/rendering.
