I run a PHP/MySql point of sale system on RH9 server. The system backs up
via FTP at night to a remote server but I would like a more imeadiate
solution that can be switched over in case of failure (I will obviously
still keep doing the off site backups).

I would like to add a second server and I need a way to keep the two
machines' MySql databases in synch without too much extra load.

Any suggestions?
