That only works if the abusive poster is willing to play by the rules.
A best practice is to troll the message out - although I avoid that one.
What you do is reply to the troll, but put something like "alt.spam.me" in
the reply-to or follow-up-to (i forget which).
Then, when they reply - it's a double whammy.
1. The thread trails off into lala land.
2. The spam-cops can collect the header data and identify sources of abuse.
But your best, best practice would be the one we use with our TV's.
If you don't like what you see - stop looking at it.
