We Upstate New Yorkers [1] sometimes wish that *Downstate* New York
could be cut off and pushed out to sea. Or give 'em to Connecticut and
New Jersey. Our taxes would halve.
1. I'm actually halfway between "Upstate" and "Western" New York.
