In other words, instead of this:

xml_parse_into_struct( $parser, $data, &$structure, &$index );

Use this:

xml_parse_into_struct( $parser, $data, $structure, $index );

And modify the function definition of xml_parse_into_struct to include the
ampersand symbols there instead.
