It really depends upon what you're interested in. The primary focus
involves using various tricks to efficiently datamine and correlate
geospatial and temporal data. Some sites (geocoder) offer free soap, rpc,
and rdf interfaces. Others (usgs) /allegedly/ require manual interaction to
retrieve their data. So, you end up with everything from apps like google
earth, flyte, etc to peeps providing wardriving maps, local business maps,
and everything in between.
