Well, PHP is not really the same thing or even same *type* of thing as
HTML. "whups html"? Apples and oranges.
I do agree with you on your assessment of the PHP.net site as a newbie
primer. There *is* a tuorial there that might be of use, even to newbs.

It is not super comprehensive but it will get the ball rolling.
