Where does it, or I say that you do. What it says is what you need! How you
go about it is up to you. And why do you need write access, you need to be
able to upload to a web server, and then call the page through a browser or
install a web server locally (not just Apache).

I have no idea what this is about!

Obviously as I've said so before in this thread!

Again that's what it says <Quote> we assume that your server has activated
support for PHP</Quote> it isn't just Apache that runs PHP, You seem to
have a single minded belief that, and I quote from your earlier post
<Quote>most readers are running Linux and either have Apache already
installed or can install from rpm, or similar.</Quote> have you looked at
the manual? there is a complete section on Installation and Configuration,
seven chapters of it on how to install on much more than just Linux and
Apache. Read the page "General Installation Considerations" it explains it
all. It's too big a subject for a simple PHP tutorial.

Where? Are we reading the same manual? I can find how to install PHP on any
number of servers including Apache 1.3 and 2.0, but nowhere how to install
Apache. From the section on Apache 2.0 on Unix <Quote>Download the most
recent version of » Apache 2.0 and a fitting PHP version from the above
mentioned places. This quick guide covers only the basics to get started
with Apache 2.0 and PHP. For more information read the » Apache
Documentation.</Quote>

That's your opinion and I wouldn't argue with it, as I have already stated
my views in an earlier post in this thread.

Try as I might I can't get my computer to fit inside a Xerox machine :-)) I
can only assume, and I could be wrong, that you mean to have explicit
diagrams or code snippets on how to do things, I consider that they are
already there.

After having installed Apache or IIS et al; locally if needed, installed
and configured PHP,(which in itself is no mean task) or uploaded to a web
server that has PHP installed I cant believe that any of the readers who
have got that far will not be able to understand how to put a file in a web
directory.
