Your markup is invalid, that can't be helping. http://validator.w3.org/ is
your friend.

The trouble with Verdana is that it tempts authors into using font sizes
which are unreadable small when Verdana is not available (it has an off
x-height so it more readable at small font sizes) ...

1. Don't use tables for layout
